Vegetable oil adsorption (bleaching) line is intended for withdrawal of considerable amounts of peroxidate, colouring agents, and also of a part of phosphorous-containing substances, soda soaps, fatty-acids remaining in oil after hydration and alkali refining. The capacity is up to 500 ton per day.

1 Adsorption area

Dosed dried oil from tank Е1о is fed by the pump Н2о through the heat-exchanger Т16о, where it is heated up to the rated temperature with low-pressure steam, and then is fed to the vacuum-bleaching unit Е3о. From the tank Е9о with the pump Н10о citric acid solution is fed into the oil flow for metal and soap traces deactivation (if required). The adsorbent is fed by the dosing unit from the tank Е11о into the vacuum-bleaching unit Е3о. Intensive mixing of oil with the adsorbent is carried out in the tank Е3о. The suspension is dispensed at the top of the unit, then it passes through several reflecting plates and accumulates at the bottom of the unit. Vacuum in the vacuum-bleaching unit is created by the steam jet ejector system ПБ13о.

2 Oil filtration area

From the vacuum-bleaching unit Е3о the suspension with the pump Н4о is fed for filtration to one of vertical filters Ф5,1о or Ф5,2о. The suspension is drained through the filter plate formed by filter elements and an inwashed filter bed. In this case the adsorbent with contaminates remain on the plate, while the bleached oil is fed through one of control valves Ф8,1о or Ф8,2о to the starting tank of the deodorization area. When the ultimate filtration pressure is reached the flow of suspension is switched from the operating filter to the other filter, and the unloading of the stopped filter takes place. In this case the residual volume of the filter is drained into the tank Е14о, and the filtered residue is dried with vapour. Water-drop eliminator Е15о is used for moisture removing. Vapour-moisture-oil mixture is fed into the water-drop eliminator Е15о, where vapour is separated from moisture and oil. The vapour is bypassed to waste, and moisture and oil are drained to the tank Е14о. In the tank Е14о moisture and oil are separated by way of sedimentation. From time to time the oil is drawn by vacuum into the vacuum-bleaching unit, and the water is drained into the grease catcher.
